How to manage pests without chemical pesticides: We recommend using row cover to shield your crops from pest and sun damage, all the while maintaining water retention. Row cover is a natural cloth material that keeps UV rays out, hides the scent of crops from pests, and keeps water in. We also recommend diatomaceous earth for issues like bugs, or a homemade spray of diluted castille soap and garlic. Are your cats getting into your bed? Try putting chili pepper on top of the soil. Have rabbits? Make a small fence of a DIY hoop house (pictured to the right.) We can't guarantee that pests won't get into your bed. We can only help when problems arise.
